Two very talented DJ's, one a new kid on the block DJ Mumble whilst the other not exactly old but he's the oldest toddler shall we say! who is a a very underated DJ-ing talent in Manchester . Disc brake has been at Simple for over 2 years now and this event has created a very solid foundation for itself. From their technical scratching ability to their sheer good tune selection of music on offer. The music Disc Brake provides is sure to keep you entertained that's for sure!

Disc Break has seen many faces and one or two places since it came onto the scene back in January 2003 - guest dj's/bands include:

And with punters through the doors including the one and only Mr Scruff!!

After a year or so at the Font Bar - Disc Break decided it was time for a change of location and so it became a more regular event, holding a monthly residency at the Northern Quarters own Simple Bar.

9pm-12am Lee Gosnay and Friends every Saturday except last. Each week different dj's and performers such as percussion and scratch dj's will showcase their musical talents. Music wise expect Funk, disco, nu jazz, House and breaks on this lively Saturday night.

Some two years ago Steff Holland decided to take on where the funks not dead left off and has really proved to be a successful hit. With this being a monthly night this night has a great party atmosphere for all to enjoy. So expect lively jackin House Music throughout the night with the classic's coming in towards the end of the night. Her nights are always varied with different dj's taking to the decks and live percussion on some occasions.

At the Roomin Manchester broad-minded will be providing a whole host of music from 10.30-2am on selected Firday nights. There will be special dj's and musical performers livening things up a little more than usual adding some spice to the evening.

This Friday sees dj conrad and Claire playing some sax, next Friday we will have Phil Charnock spinning the tunes whilst Julia will be providing some superbly executed vocals. We also have NOIS returning, playing his funky guitar riffs, Mike C providing more percussion and Hayley Mitchell with some more stunning vocals due in the not too distant future.

Club-minded
broad-minded are to host certain club events in Manchester to help promote talent like at simple and room. Keep posted to this section for events promoted by broad-minded.

Workshop-minded
We will be hosting various creative workshops in the coming months in the North West area. The workshops will be aimed at bringing communities together through Music making activities with also visual elements to aid them.

Who we are aiming at?
In particular we will be helping young people, disadvantaged people and anyone with a passion to be creative will be given an oppourtunity to participate in a variety of activites. We don't like to exclude anyone from help apart from workshops that are funded for a particular group. e.g age group 10-16.

Range of workshops available
There will be a whole host of workshops ranging from Singing Lessons to Dj-ing. Various professionals in their fields will be providing encouragement, enjoyment and training for these workshops.
