Breakfast Club Trilogy

This Trilogy mix represents what I played at Manto’s breakfast club in Manchester between the hours of 2.30am and 7am each week. In October 2003 I got a weekly residency at Manto’s Breakfast club in Manchester. In which, I have played various styles in order to please all and create something new and underground to the gay scene Each cd is separate but appropriate for that time of night/morning as the sun rises. I wanted to play the tracks, which I felt represented those times, the most. I hope you enjoy

Early Riser

The first part is called Early Riser which ebbs and flows at a steady tempo as the vibe is set for the all-nighter. This mix combines deep bass lines, sexy vocals whilst maintaining good rhythm and percussion throughout.

Upward Motion

The second mix, Upward Motion, has as the title suggests more of an uplifting feel, which builds throughout. Starting with a classic Kraftwerk FK remix, this second mix is weighty, has variation in its record selection and intensifies whilst keeping an almost bouncy feel towards the end.

Climax

The third mix, Climax starts melodic, deep and purposeful. The pace steadily increases as the mix moves along and once the classic EN “horn ride” is dropped the mix builds momentum with an air of unexpectedness.
