The Brewery
Welcome to Spitting Feathers

Exciting times at Spitting Feathers as we prepare for the opening of our new pub, The Brewery Tap. We are still looking for staff at the pub- assistant manager, chef, commis, bar staff. Anyone interested should give us a call or e-mail over your CV.

Spitting Feathers is born of an enthusiasm for real ale and a belief in the traditional methods of quality beer production. Free from colourings, flavourings and other artificial additives, Spitting Feathers award winning beers are made only from the finest barley malts, wheat, yeast, hops and water.

The home of Spitting Feathers Brewery is Common Farm, built in 1862 in the village of Waverton two miles south of Chester. The used grains from the brewery are a valuable feed for the cattle and pigs that provide the brewery with sausages (made with beer), spare ribs, etc. Bee hives on the farm provide honey for the seasonal beer Honey Trap. Small amounts of hops are also grown on the farm for use in occasional/special beers.

Spitting Feathers is a family brewery. The Walley family have farmed in Waverton for five generations and continue to dairy farm as well as maintaining other interests including composting Chester City Council's green waste and operating the popular "Crocky Trail" adventure trail.
